So I've been looking for a sewing machine, there's a lot of little things I want to do with my shop that would be a lot faster with a sewing machine.
Then I found these, my favorite style dresses ever!

I love 50s retro dresses too but my mom wore them when I was little, and she sewed me little girl versions of them which I wore, and I'm sad to say we weren't exactly in heaven.
ReplyDeleteBut the dresses were very cool. My mom got married in this gorgeous blue and green multi-layered moire effect type forties dress, with a tight waist and tiny fabric covered buttons and a huge skirt part, and I wore it throughout my twenties till I went dancing in it and ripped the sleeves half out. Then my daughter wore the matching underslip for dressup and stepped on it so many times it kind of fell apart. Also I was too lazy to dry clean it, and it got a bit rank. Still I *loved* that dress!
Except I will never make dresses like that or like anything at all because sewing machines are evil and want to kill me.
